ChatSonic for example uses Google Search data to keep it up to date. Unlike ChatGPT which currently only is trained on data up to early 2022.

In my experience, the more precise you can be about what you want it to do, the better the response will be.

The first step from the previous section still stands, and you need to choose a platform. The difference now is the you need to ensure that the platform has API (Application Programming Interface).

So if you have a custom application to which you like to add ChatGPT, like a chatbot, you need to use API for integration. Although there are no official API endpoints available, the ChatGPT community has figured things out. ChatSonic also has support for API integration.

The good thing is that most platforms have access to API. But if you want to be extra sure, create an OpenAI account.

This might sound very advances, well it kind of is, but the good thing is that most platforms has dedicated help sections just for API integrations.

So you should have no problem finding the information you need to get things rolling.

And once you’ve set up the API and have your application up and running, you’ll need to monitor the performance of the AI to ensure that it is generating the best possible responses to customer and user queries.

Challenges facing ChatGPT

Although ChatGPT has many benefits, it also has some challenges that businesses need to be aware of.

1. It can be biased if the training data is biased.

Biased data is every AI Achilles’ heel and is something that can severally damage the performance of an AI system.

And ChatGPT is no exception…

To overcome this, you need to be aware of any biases that can occur within the data.

But, unless you have direct access to the training data, it can be somewhat difficult to correct for any bias.

Therefore, if you use your own data to train the model, you need to take extra precautions to ensure that you’re using a biased free dataset.

But you should not have to worry too much about bias when using the existing dataset, since it’s built on top of the GPT-3 model. And if there were bias problems, OpenAI seems like a legitimate enough business to correct it.

2. It isn’t always accurate and relevant

Another challenge is that ChatGPT is not always able to generate the best responses to user queries.

Honesty, this isn’t an uncommon problem for AI-driven text-generating applications. Understanding contexts, underlying questions and intent is something that many AI can struggle with.

Even OpenAI themselves knows about this problem and even say: “ChatGPT sometimes writes plausible-sounding but incorrect or nonsensical answers”.

There are pretty much only three ways to remedy this…

The first one is to provide the AI with even more data and use more advanced algorithms to interpretative language and its structures.

Second one is to provide it with a set of clear instructions and rules. This way we can define what the ChatGPT AI can and can’t respond to. So stupid, nonsensical questions should get a “I don’t understand the question” reply.

And the last thing we can do is to use human feedback to make ChatGPT even better at responding in a natural way. By using RLHF we can train the AI to generate more realistic responses.

The good this is that technology is always moving forward, and we’re still in the early stages of AI. So, as time progresses, AI will only become better and better.

3. Using it for content marketing can be difficult.

It can be challenging enough to know and understand which KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to focus on. It’s even harder to define it for an AI.

To overcome this, you need to clearly define for the AI what KPIs you want to track and measure.

You also need to master prompting, which is the key to getting ChatGPT to do what you want.

The AI can then use these KPIs to assess the performance of your content. It can even suggest actions you need to take in order to make your content perform even better.

The fact is that ChatGPT can’t generate a J.K Rowling-style roman with just one click, even though it’s using GPT-3, InstructGPT and RLHF.

When it comes to AI technology, we’re simply not there yet…

To overcome this, you should use the tool to generate ideas and initial drafts. Then edit those drafts to make them sound like you actually wrote them.

This will make your AI-generated work more relatable, accurate and engaging.

Unlike humans that at times can skip to conclusions, since there was too much data to sort through, computers doesn’t care how large the dataset is.

It just keep on crunching those numbers until it reaches the end, no matter how long it takes. So not only can more data can be processed faster, but the result will also have better accuracy.

As you can understand, this can be very useful when we want to extrapolate kay data metrics from a massive datasource.

An example would be to use AI-driven neural networks to quickly find patterns in important data on the fly. Like in a healthcare situation or calculating a predicted trajectory of a comet.
