Today we’re going to take a deep dive into the infamous ClickFunnels affiliate program.

Once signed up for the program you will be given a custom link that is design so that the company can track if you made a sale.

You will of course be compensated for all the hard work you do promoting the company.

This is called affiliate commission and is usually a percentage of the amount the customer buys for.

It’s up to the company to decide how much commission they want to pay you and there is very little and affiliate can do to change that. To be honest I’ve never heard of an affiliate that manage to change the commission level for personal benefits.

Affiliate marketing does not require you to stock any inventory and this can benefit entrepreneurs that are on a tight budget.

It is for the most time free to join any affiliate program, however sometimes you need to answer a few questions about your company in order to be accepted.

Some do this to make sure that only high quality affiliate are in the affiliate program. Does this mean that you can’t join this program?

No, of course not.

This just means that you ned to gain more experience as an affiliate to fit into the requirements for the program. Don’t worry to much about this since there are tons of affiliate programs out there and I bet that you will find more then on that will fit you desires.

How Does It Work

To understand how affiliate marketing works in a super simple way you can break it down into six parts.

1. Find a niche
2. Join affiliate program
3. Find products
4. Promote products
5. Track sales
6. Earn commission

1. Find Niche

There is only one rule that applies here.

Pick a niche that you love and can see yourself creating tons of content about. This is very important due to the fact that you are going to have to see yourself creating high quality content for years to come.

People tend to pick niches based on the amount of money they can make, only to end up with nothing because they could not keep up with the content creation. Since 70% of affiliate marketing is about content creation.

This is why I decided to work with cars and lifestyle/passive income, just because these are two topics that I could rant on about for years to come.

Being passionate about your niche will make your life as an affiliate so much easier and fun.

The common lie that only “x” niche can make money is just that, a lie!! Every niche can make money if you put in the necessary work.

Aka. you need to treat your business as a business not just a hobby.

2. Join Affiliate Program

This is the easiest one.

Once you have you niche dialed in, you need to find companies within your niche with an affiliate program.

There are two ways to do this.

One is to visit the website of the companies you are interested in working with and see if they have an affiliate program (usually displayed in the footer).

The other one is to use google and type in “company name” join affiliate program and let google do the hard work for you.

This is also a great way to find new companies in your niche with affiliate program. Just type in “niche” affiliate programs.

3. Find Products

Once you have joined an affiliate program the product finding process is simple.

Usually the company provides you with a variety of products for you to choose from.

To keep things ethical and authentic you should always choose products that you love, use yourself and believe in.

Why?

Because it will be so much easier to create content around it.

4. Promote Products

The key element to affiliate marketing is product promotion.

This comes in every shape and sizes.

For instance you run a blog where you talk about your product, if you love the camera lens you can do YouTube videos or you can do paid advertising. 

The choice is yours, but I would recommend that you pick something that you are comfortable doing in the beginning.

Once you feel like you have mastered for instance blogging, you can branch out and practice doing YouTube videos. 

No matter how you decide to promote your product, the most important thing is to stay consistent. Make sure that you keep on feeding the world with great content.

5. Track Sales

Once you join an affiliate program you will be given a special link that you can share with the world.

This link is made only for you and is there to help keep track of your clicks and sales.

This is the link you would share in an email or in the description os a YouTube video. So it’s directly tied to point 6.

6. Earn Commission

This is the fun part, because this is where you get paid.

Who doesn’t love that?

With your special link the company can keep track of what and how much you sell. This information is used by the company to determine how much commission they need to pay you.

Payouts usually happens within a 15 to 30 day interval.

The company should clearly state how much commission they will give you for each sale you make.

The range is most likely going to be between 2-70% depending on what kind of products the company have.

A rule of thumb is that physical products is at the lower end of the scale and software and services are at the top end.
