Today I’m going to show you exactly how easy it is to clone a funnel in ClickFunnels.
In fact, the same method can be used to duplicate funnel pages and even elements inside your funnel.
The best part?
It doesn’t take hours to do, I bet you can pull this off in less then 5 minutes.
So if you want to learn how to clone your funnels, pages and elements in record time, you’ll love this guide.
Let’s get started.
Why Clone A Funnel?
Before we dive into the deep end of the pool, I want to take a second to talk about why you might want to clone a funnel or the elements in it.
First I want to clear something up for you. When working with ClickFunnels you’ll come in contact with the term “clone” a lot.
Does this mean that ClickFunnels and Russell Brunson are massive Star Wars fans?
Well…I don’t know.
What I do know is this…
Cloning a funnel is the same thing as duplicating or copying a funnel.
What it means is that you have the ability to make an exact copy of a funnel, page/step or element.
The end goal here is to end up with a duplicate of your funnel that contains all the copy, settings and page layouts.
And if you by any chance would make one to many clones, I have a guide on ‘how to remove a funnel‘ here.
3 Resons to clone
First: If you have a funnel that is working exceptionally well for one project, why not copy it and use it for another project.
This way you can save yourself tons of time. Instead of having to go through the whole setup process, you can just duplicate something that works with one click.
Second: Cloning a funnel step inside your funnel increases the speed of which you can build funnels.
Let’s say you have a funnel and you want 5 OTO:s. Why go through the pain staking process of building each one. Why not just build one and clone it 4 times and make some small tweaks here and there.
Third: Building funnels from scratch can take some time, even though ClickFunnels drag and drop funnel builder speeds up the process as much as possible.
But adding the same element time after time gets boring fast. Duplicating a element will save you a few mouse clicks and work hours.
There is a common theme apparent here. Funnel cloning is all about saving your time.
Because if you can get the funnel done faster, you can start making money sooner.
How to Duplicate a Funnel in ClickFunnels
When you have a funnel that you know works well, the next natural step for you would be to duplicate it and use it as a template for other projects.
And here’s how:
First, login to your ClickFunnels account and head over to your funnel list.
Next, find the funnel you want to duplicate and open it.
From there you want to navigate to the Settings menu.
Now click on Clone Funnel to place the funnel in que for cloning.
Once you’re done, go back to the funnel list. Your cloned funnel will appear here when it’s done. The funnel will be named “Copy of [your funnel name]“.
Another way of doing this that might be considered easier is to duplicate it right from the funnel list.
First, open your funnel list and find the funnel you want to duplicate.
Next, look to the right and you’ll see 3 dots, click on those to open the quick menu.
From there, click on Duplicate.
The funnel will be placed in que and appear in your funnel list once it’s done.
Clone a Funnel Step in ClickFunnels
When you are working on your funnel and know that you will have multiple similar steps (like OTO:s), clone them.
Build the first one, clone the rest. Now you only have to make minor changes instead of complete steps/pages.
Here’s how to clone a funnel step.
From your funnel list, find the funnel you want to work with and open it.
Next, go to the step you want to clone.
From there, click on Clone Funnel Step. The step will now be placed in que for cloning.
Once the cloning is done the new step will appear in the Other Funnel Steps list.
Go to the list, find the new funnel step and click on add to funnel.
This way the newly cloned funnel will be added to your active funnel steps.
All you have to do now is to move it to the right place in the funnel, add the necessary changes and repat the process for the next step.
Duplicate a Page Element
You know the feeling you get when you have to add 12 of the same elements inside the ClickFunnels editor. It just takes forever and the amount of mouse clicks…don’t even get me started.
Luckily for you, you can make one and duplicate the rest with ease.
First (I assume that you are in the editor now), find the element you want to duplicate and hover over it.
When the orange outline around the element appears, click on the Clone button.
Instantly you will see that you now have two of the same elements on your page.
Do this as many times as you want.
How to Copy a Funnel Step to Another Funnel
As an extra bonus section to this post, I wanted to show you how you can copy one step of your funnel to an entirely different funnel.
First, go to the funnel step you want to have available to use in other funnels.
Now, open the editor for that step.
Next, go to the Settings menu and then General.
From there, click on Save Page As Template.
Give your new template a name and click on Create Template.
Note: Remember what page type the page is (sales, optin etc.) this will help you in the next step.
Use the template in a funnel
To use the template of the funnel step you’ve just created, open up one of your funnels and click on Add New Step.
Go through the naming process and hit Create Funnel Step.
When you get to the select template menu, find the type of step you want to add (hence why you need to know what type your template is).
When you have selected the type you want to add (mine was a Thank You page), click on Show Only My Templates.
From there, click Select Template and your ready to rock.
Where’s my templates?
That’s a good question of you to ask.
If you want to edit one of your templates, go to Account Setting, then Page Templates.
Once inside the page templates menu, you can choose to preview or edit one of your templates.
Inside the editor you can change the name of the template, add a tag to it (for easy search), or choose to enable or disable the template.
A disabled template will not show up in the page template menu when you want to add a new page to your funnel.
Did I Miss Anything?
There you have it, the definitive guide on how to clone a funnel in ClickFunnels.
Now Id’ like to hear from you:
Are you still building all your funnels and pages from scratch?
Or are you cloning and duplicating things while you’re working.
