In this post, I’m going to put two popular and powerful sales platforms against each other and personally review them: ClickFunnels vs SamCart.
I dove deep into each platform to uncover the good, the bad (and the ugly).
Within each platform I evaluated:
- Cost/value
- Templates
- Easy of use
- Integrations
- Marketing capabilities
- Affiliate management
- Email marketing
- Customer support
- and more…
So make sure to read this review until the end. That way you can make the best decision for you.
Product Overview
Before I get into the review itself, I want to quickly let you know some important info on each platform…
Because, when I started my business I didn’t know anything about running a business. I jumped on a SamCart free plan thinking I was going to sell my own products. Overall, It was a solid platform and I was pretty happy with it.
But I quickly realized that developing products wasn’t for me and I shifted my business more towards marketing, giving me a need for marketing features like sales funnels…
To get those features, I switched to a ClickFunnels ‘Platinum’ account, thinking “might as well get the full package while I’m at it”.
This suited my business much better and I was going in the direction I wanted.
Not until a few years in, I realized that I was paying for stuff I didn’t need or used simply because my business couldn’t utilize those features.
This made me downgrade to a ClickFunnels ‘Standard’ plan, which was more suited for my business size and I also cut down on my monthly costs by doing so.
What is ClickFunnels
ClickFunnels is a A-Z sales funnels builder founded in 2014 by Russell Brunson and Todd Dickerson.

This is truly a platform build with the entrepreneurs and brands in mind.
And with its 22,000+ active busnisses using the platform, it’s also a popular choice among business owners and entrepreneurs.
ClickFunnels vs SamCart: Feature By Feature Comparison
I feel like the best way to do this comparison is for me to pick out what I think are the most important features a business platform needs to have and then review them.
Then do a deep dive into all of those features and see how each and every one of them is doing against the other platform. All in an effort to figure out which platform offers the ultimate feature set just for your business.
Let’s go…
Pricing
The first I want to do in this ClickFunnels vs SamCart comparison is to have a look at their pricing.
You need to know how big of a hole either one of these will make in your wallet and see if it is within your price range…
Because, it can have all of the coolest features in the world, but if you can’t afford it, it doesn’t matter.
But to start, let’s look at something cheaper like if there is any free trial available.
Yes, there are. Both SamCart and ClickFunnels comes with a 14-day free trial.
This means that you get to try ClickFunnels ‘Platinum’ or any SamCart plan for 14-days without having to pay a dime.
The best part?
If you don’t like it, you can just end your trial period on the spot.
How much does ClickFunnels cost
ClickFunnels comes with 2 different payment plans – Ranging from $97/month to $297/month.
On request you can apply to join the ‘2CCX’ plan, which costs a whopping $2,497/month.
So, what do you get within each plan…
Let’s have a look at the entry level plan called:
The ‘Standard’ plan
This plan is in my mind mostly for those who are solopreneurs, small business owners and those in the startup phase.
A ‘Standard’ plan will set you back $97/month ($80/month billed annually) and includes:
- Create up to 20 funnels
- Have up to 100 pages
- Supports up to 20K visitors/month
- Unlimited contacts
- 1 sub user
- 3 custom domains
- 3 payment gateways
- A/B split testing
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- ClickPops
- ClickOptins
- Sales Funnels (Including templates)
- Membership funnels with unlimited contacts
- Webinar and auto-webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order pages, upsells, downsells and order bumps
- Share funnel
- FunnelFlix (limited access)
- Chat support
If you however feel like you need more funnels and pages, or have a bigger business with multiple sub users or maybe even multiple business then you want to have a look at the next plan called:
The ‘Platinum’ plan
This plan is for medium to large businesses or entrepreneurs with the need for many funnels and who are processing a lot of sales.
To get on to this plan you’ll pay almost 3 Benjamin Franklins a month or $297/month for short. However, you can cut the costs a bit if you go for the annual plan at $247/month.
- Includes everything from the ‘Standard’ plan and…
- Unlimited amounts of funnels
- Unlimited amounts of pages
- Infinite amount of visitors
- Unlimited amounts of contacts
- 3 sub users
- 9 payment gateways
- Weekly hackathons
- FunnelFlix (all courses)
- Priority chat support
- Priority template request
- Follow-up Funnels (email automation)
- Backpack (affiliate system)
Now I know you are sitting there thinking “I have a massive business and I want complete world domination”, is there a plan for me?
The ‘2CCX’ plan
Here it is, the ‘2CCX’ plan. This is what I would call the crème de la crème of ClickFunnels, it’s the cherry on top of the ice cream and well…
This package is not for everyone, it’s for you who are running a large business, working with multiple teams and has many things going on at once…
It’s for you who have hundreds of funnels, millions of visitors, and processes a large amount of transactions each month all over the world.
And this is a application style tier, meaning that you have to apply to be accepted into this plan, and for good reason since it costs a whopping $2,497/month.
Once you get approved into this tier you get:
- Everything from the ‘Standard’ and the ‘Platinum’ plan and…
- 10 sub users
- 27 payment gateways
- 27 domains
- Priority support + VIP phone support
- Ignite (first 90 days)
- Nail It (your ‘2 Comma Club’ Funnels)
- Scale It (2CC => 2CCX => 2CCC)
- ClickFunnels Platinum + Live support
- 2 Comma Club Momentum
- Unlocks The Agora Financial Copywriting System, Unlock The Secrets, Agora Media Buying Course and Software Secrets inside FunnelFlix
As you can see this plan packs a lot of stuff and is dedicated to big business looking to manage and scale there business even more.
How much does SamCart cost
SamCart comes with 4 different payment plans – starting at $49/month all the way up to $199/month for the ‘Scale’ plan.
Yes, there is also a ‘Enterprise’ plan, but I’ll get to that one later.
Anyway, what do you get if you decide to invest in one of theses plans.
Let’s have a look at the first plan called:
The ‘Launch’ plan
I would say that this is a plan for you who want to launch you new business and create one-page websites to showcase your products.
This plan will ask you for $49/month, but if you go with the annual plan you can shave that cost down to $39/month.
This plan includes the following:
- 1 admin user
- Unlimited products and pages
- Infinite amount courses
- unlimited memberships
- Drag & Drop page builder
- Full template library
- 0% processing fees
- Apple and Google Pay
- “Pay What You Want” pricing
- Coupons and discounts
- Sales and VAT tax support
- SamCart courses
- Integration engine
- Sales reporting dashboard
- Smart pixel tracking
- 99.9% uptime
- Weekly webinars
- email support
- Free preview of CreatorU
If you however want to convert more of your visitors into customers and increase the value of each purchase, I’d suggest having a look at the next plan on the list, which is:
The ‘Grow’ plan
This plan is in my mind a plan for small to medium sized businesses that are moving up in the world.
There is a slight step-up in price compared to the previous plan, now we land at $99/month or $79/month if you go with the annual plan.
The ‘Grow’ plan will give you access to this:
- Everything from the ‘Launch’ plan and…
- 3 admin users
- Email customization
- Custom ‘Thank You’ pages
- Free and paid trials
- Order bump collections
- Post-order upsells
- White-label branding
- Multiple payment options
- Advanced integrations
- Advanced subscriptions cancellations
- UTM tracking
- 1-Day email support
- Priority email support
- 1:1 launch support call with SamCart expert (annual plans only)
And if this isn’t enough and you feel like you want even more advanced features and process sales at a larger scale, you’d want to check out the next plan in line:
The ‘Scale’ plan
Now we’re starting to come closer to the costs of a ClickFunnels ‘Platinum’ plan. This is for larger businesses that has a team of workers and are processing large amounts each month.
The ‘Scale’ plan will set you back almost exactly 2 Benji’s or $199/month to be precise, and if you bring a scissor you can cut that cost down to $159/month billed annually.
This plan will give you access to:
- Everything from the ‘Launch’ and ‘Grow’ plans and…
- 10 admin users
- Subscription saver (dunning)
- Cart abandonment
- Affiliate center
- CRM integrations
- Custom API integrations
- Admin user roles
- Custom self-cancellations
- A/B testing
- Dedicated SamCart Expert (annual plan only)
So, here you are again asking if there is a plan for you who want complete world domination.
And yes, there is a plan for you here as well:
The ‘Enterprise’ plan
This plan much like ClickFunnels ‘2CCX’ plan is the heavy hitter, the Yoda level of SamCart.
And this is not for everyone, you need a big business that process tons of sales to really see the true benefit of this plan.
And like ClickFunnels, this is a application only plan, meaning that you need to apply and be accepter in order to enter this plan.
Sadly there is no price stated for this, so I’ll have to assume that the price is individually set.
But once you’re in, here’s what you get:
- Everything from the ‘Launch’, ‘Grow’ and ‘Scale’ plans and…
- Multiple sub accounts
- Custom reporting and exports
- Dedicated account manager (qualified accounts)
- Technical setup support
- Subscription migration support
- Product roadmap prioritization
Which one has more bang for the buck?
Since both of these platforms has a 14-day free trial period I can’t base anything on that alone.
If we compare ClickFunnels vs SamCart pricings, we can see that SamCart is cheaper across the entire spectrum.
ClickFunnels though, makes up for its price tag by offering a lot more features when it comes to building pages, funnels and education.
And if you don’t’ already have a funnel in place and are looking to start building those, ClickFunnels will be the better option.
However, if you already have a funnel in place, and only are looking for a monetization option…
Then SamCart might be a better choice since it is a dedicated shipping cart and checkout platform.
Design And Customization
Another important thing to consider when deciding on what platform is right for you, is ease of use.
Not having to be an expert coder or need 4 degrees in computer science can be a deal breaker for most of us.
I bet that you, much like me want something that’s easy to use and fast to learn, because we want to sell our products, not figure to how to become a expert coder.
When looking at SamCart vs ClickFunnels we can see that both are really strong in this department.
The drag and drop builders
Both of these platforms are based around one thing – The user.
This is why both have incorporated simple and easy to learn drag and drop builders.
And since SamCart is a checkout and landing page builder you’ll find more advanced tools for those kind of things.
Likewise with ClickFunnels, it’s a pure sales funnel builder, meaning you’ll have access to many more advanced functions when it comes to just that.
ClickFunnels vs SamCart template library
Both SamCart and ClickFunnels have a solid template library available for you to use.
And the libraries are not restricted to any tier level, so you’re good to go right away.
ClickFunnels though, stands out a bit if you decide to get on a ‘Platinum’ plan. Then you can send in a request for a custom template with the ‘Template Request’ function.
But overall both have a solid template library and the ‘Template Request’ is not a deal breaker in my opinion.
Sales Funnels
Since ClickFunnels is built for sales funnels it has the upper hand vs SamCart.
And it should, because SamCart is a stand-alone checkout and landing page builder not a funnel builder.
So clearly, if you want to build sales funnels ClickFunnels will be a better choice. However, you still can build “sales funnels” inside SamCart, it only takes some creativity with the software.
Another drawback is that SamCart doesn’t come with customizable ‘Thank You’ pages until you get on the ‘Grow’ plan.
Therefor, the best and easiest route would without doubt be to go with a tool like ClickFunnels. It will hands down give you a better user experience if you want to level-up your business by using sales funnels.
Building membership sites
A popular way for a business to make money is to use membership sites where customers pay a one-time or recurring fee to take part of the content inside.
Great idea if you ask me, and the market for it is growing by the hour.
So, which one is better for hosting a membership site?
SamCart ‘Courses’
SamCart has something called ‘Courses’, which is a built in course building platform.
With this you can build and manage your own courses. Add videos, text, worksheets, downloads and drip content, pretty much all you need to host a successful course/membership.
The ‘Courses’ function is available in all plans and it does not matter what you choose, all plans comes with unlimited courses and memberships.
From the ‘Course’ dashboard you can also track student progress, import students, etc.
Another cool feature is the ‘Course Corss-Sells’ function, this then allows you to promote your other courses inside your current course.
With SamCart you can also integrate with some of the bigger membership platforms out there like MemberPress, Kajabi and Thinkific.
ClickFunnels membership funnels
With ClickFunnels you get a built in section for membership funnels (sites) and course creation.
This membership function is available on all plans and much like SamCart, it supports unlimited membership sites and members.
The drawback is that on a ‘Standard’ plan you are limited to 100 pages and 20 funnels, giving you an indirect limit on how many membership funnels you can have before you need a plan upgrade.
Since ClickFunnels membership funnels is structured the same way as a “normal” funnel, you can easily do upsells, downsells and in-members-area sales with just a few clicks.
You can also restrict access using tags and only display certain parts of your members area depending on what a member has bought from you.
ClickFunnels vs SamCart for hosting webinars
Another popular way to promote products these days are with webinars.
Here SamCart falls short vs ClickFunnels who has the advantage of having a built in feature for hosting webinars
With SamCart you can only promote and/or sell access to your webinar, but you’ll have to host it elsewhere.
ClickFunnels on the other hand is built for this, and you can integrate your funnel with most webinar service providers like WebinarFuel or Zoom.
But that’s only needed if you want to host a live webinar.
ClickFunnels also gives you to option to host an automated webinar, and this can be done right inside the platform.
It also comes with many advanced features for sending texts and building email automation to ensure that you get as many attendees as possible.
This is hands down a win for ClickFunnels, with all the advance management for hosting live webinars and auto-webinar. SamCart couldn’t keep up the pace here, with the requirement of having to host the entire webinar elsewhere.
Split Testing
A vital component to any successful business is to know what works and what doesn’t.
The only way to actually determine this is by performing a split-test or A/B test on your funnels or pages. This means that you take one revision of a page or funnel and compare it to another with some slight changes made to it.
Whoever produces the most sales revenue or leads is the winner.
When we look at ClickFunnels vs SamCart, one of them stands out while the other one falls short.
ClickFunnels is kind enough to let you do A/B testing in every plan.
SamCart on the other hand falls short here, since you are not able to do any split testing until you’ve entered the ‘Scale’ plan.
This is a shame sins A/B testing is such an important part of developing your business.
As I mentioned above, I think split testing is a vital thing to have access to when your are building a business, no matter if you’re just starting out or have years in the game…
Optimizing your funnels and pages for maximum revenue and/or conversion is something I believe we all want.
I mean we started our businesses for a reson…right?
And since ClickFunnels has the A/B testing feature available in every plan, it takes the lead right away.
Shopping Cart Design
It’s really hard to compare SamCart vs ClickFunnels when it comes to shopping cart design and management.
Both platforms are powerful in their own way when it comes to selling your products.
ClickFunnels is standing out a bit since it has a broader user base, in other words, you can be an affiliate marketer, or work with non profit, or lead generation, etc.
SamCart is a bit more limited since their users usually are within the e-commerce space and those looking to sell their own products and services.
And if we look at the checkout pages you’ll quickly see why SamCart shines in this area.
It’s not surprising, since it’s a dedicated checkout page builder. Because of this, you’ll have more advanced management and abandonment features available.
The advance cart management is something that isn’t quiet as developed in ClickFunnels. Not to say that it isn’t capable of getting the job done.
It’s just that SamCart’s is much more advanced, since it was literary built for this purpose.
Even though SamCart has the upper edge right now, both these platforms still support:
- Upsell pages
- One-click upsells
- Downsell pages
- Order bumps
So as we can see, they are both very similar on that point.
Trying to decide who has the better shopping cart design is like trying to decide between one green sock and another.
Both are equally as capable of setting up a shopping cart with elements like OTO:s and order bumps.
However, if you are looking for an advanced shopping cart management tool, I think you’d be leaning towards SamCart.
But, if you’re only looking to sell your product, they will both do the job just fine.
Listing Products
An important yet overlooked factor in setting up your products and services on a shopping cart platform is how it’s presented.
It can have a huge impact on the results you get from your sales and marketing campaigns.
You want your product to be highlighted in the best possible way on and a page that’s optimized for maximum revenue.
This is why you want a platform that helps you build beautiful pages and funnels, which also is easy to use.
Oh, and before I forget, both ClickFunnels and SamCart supports a unlimited amount of product listings. So you don’t nee to worry about having “too many” products.
Adding your products
ClickFunnels has made it easy to add your product to your funnel.
From your sales page – go to “Product Details” and they will guide you through the entire process step by step.
They will help you setup thing like:
- Product name
- Price
- Quantity limits
- If it’s an order bump
- Fullfilment emails
- Shipping
- etc.
Once you’re done, smash the save button and you’re good to go.
SamCart has also developed a simple system for selling and delivering your products.
To add another one of your products to your SamCart account, all you do is log in, go to the “Products” tab and click on “New Products” and you’re off to the races.
The product setup guide will take you through the entire process:
- Product name
- Description
- If it’s a one-time payment, recurring subscription, limited subscription, or a Pay What You Want product
- Pricing
- Tags
- etc.
You can also choose to add a image to your product. You can also set discounts and add coupons to boost sales even more.
Since e-commerce is SamCart’s home turf, they offer a wide range of tools that goes beyond just listing your products. Additional features like CRM, partial refunds, free and paid trials, custom self cancelations, and more are available if you want to use it.
And sure, SamCart’s product setup is simple, organized and easy to use. But, all the advanced features could be intimidating for a beginner.
Therefor, I still feel like ClickFunnels is more user friendly.
Mostly because of the simpler structure and because it’s more beginner friendly.
Testing payments in Clickfunnels vs SamCart
Before selling anything, it can be a good idea to setup and test your payment integration. Because we like to get paid i actual money, not candy.
Adding your favorite payment gateway is super simple on both platforms. Just follow along the step-by-step guides and you’ll be all set to go.
If you’re using ClickFunnels and Stripe, testing becomes easy, because you can turn on “Test Mode” right in the funnel under the “Settings” tab.
The downside with ClickFunnels ‘Test Mode’ is that the test transactions will still be shown in the statistics. So, if you test a lot, it will look like you’ve sold a lot 😉
Unlike SamCart where test transactions isn’t shown in the statistics. Makin the stats appear cleaner and you know that you only see real transactions…not your own.
Integrations
To have a smooth running business you need to be able to integrate the apps you already are using in your business. This is why the amount and types of integrations supported by a software might be the most important thing to consider before deciding on which one to get.
You need to know that the platform you choose integrates flawlessly with the apps and tools you already love and use on a daily basis.
When we are comparing ClickFunnels vs SamCart integrations we can easily see that one has more integrations than the other.
I think ClickFunnels has more than 40 last time I checked vs SamCart who has just shy of 30.
All of the most popular 3rd-party integrations are available like Aweber, ActiveCampaign, Stripe, PayPal, Shopify, and many, many more.
SamCart has more integrations for memberships than ClickFunnels, although ClickFunnels has that built in already.
And ClickFunnels supports more payment gateways and also SMTP.
A quick summary is that they both support tons of integrations, and I don’t think you’d keep on reading if I listed them all. 😉
However, if you are missing an integration both ClickFunnels and SamCart supports Zapier integrations. This unlocks a whole new world of integrations and possibilities, since you can integrate almost anything to Zapier.
Email Marketing
Email marketing could be one of the most important things for a modern business owner. The old saying “The money is in the list” is still relevant if you ask me.
The grate thing about ClickFunnels is that in comes with a built in email automation function called ‘Follow-Up Funnels’.
With this you can build email list, do advanced segmenting and build complete email automation sequences. Turning your business into a more hands off automated business, and that is always nice.
But is it too good to be true?
Well, depends on your budget and business needs. ‘Follow-Up Funnels’ is only available in the ‘Platinum‘ plan which means you’ll have to put up with the $297/month price tag.
The other thing is that you need a SMTP connection to be able to actually send any emails, so there is that too.
If you are on the ‘Standard’ plan, you’ll have to get yourself a 3rd-party email autoresponder and integrate it with ClickFunnels to be able to build lists and manage email automations.
SamCart does not have any built in email automation functionality. Meaning, you’ll have to get a 3rd-party app like Aweber or ActiveCampaign and integrate it into SamCart to manage email automations, lists and segmenting.
This will set you back an extra $50 – $100 a month for that service alone.
Since ClickFunnels ‘Platinum’ has a hefty price tag of $297/month you really have think once or even twice if you need all of the functionality that comes with that plan, or if the ‘Standard’ plan will be sufficient.
Also, if you already have a autoresponder that you love and use, why not just integrate that instead and save yourself some money.
General Marketing Capabilities
When looking at ClickFunnels vs SamCart we can see that both utilizes features like one-click checkout, order bumps, downsells, and upsells to help you squeeze more revenue out of each customer.
Strangely enough, none of them has added behavioral adaptive marketing (or B-A-M for short) features, which could optimize your sales process even further.
And in a society that moves more and more into the world of behavioral marketing, we can only hope that they will add it sooner rather then later.
But if we look at the broad spectra, ClickFunnels has in general better marketing capabilities with the ‘Follow-Up Funnel’ feature. A function that SamCart misses entirely.
Even though you have to step up to the ‘Platinum’ plan at $297/month, you’d still have to consider the costs of all the 3rd-party integrations you’re using.
At some point, there will be a crossover where the ‘Platinum’ plan will be cheaper.
Then we have to consider all the extra courses inside FunnelFlix that comes with that plan. You literary unlocks hours of training on how to market and expand your business.
Ability To Scale
Scaling your business is something that most entreprenuers are looking to do.
Because more scale = more money (usually).
Since SamCart is targeting those in need of a shopping cart and landing page builder, like e-commerce business.
This means that you can keep on growing your e-commerce store on whatever platform you’re hosting it on. Then follow the growth with a SamCart plan that suites your needs at the time.
That’s what the tiers are for, so you don’t pay more then you need to.
But you can’t merge your entire e-commerce store into SamCart, that’s not how the platform works.
ClickFunnels on the other hand provides more of a (dear I say) business-in-a-box concept.
Within their platform you can host your entire business within it, and many are doing just that. And since everything you need is accessible from one dashboard, like:
- Sales funnels
- Landing pages
- Product listings
- Memberships
- Webinars
- Email automation
- Affiliate management
You can basically host your entire business under one roof.
Being able to have everything at the same place might seem appealing for many, but it still might not be the solution for everyone.
Some of us just want one piece of the cake not the entire thing, and that’s perfectly fine too.
But on the grand scale of things, I feel like ClickFunnels has the biggest scaling advantage just because of the “under-one-roof” concept.
Reporting
We as marketers know how important it is to choose a platform with a good reporting system in place. Mostly, so we can track, analyze, and optimize based on actual accurate sales data.
So, what’s the reporting like in ClickFunnels vs the reporting in SamCart?
Reporting inside ClickFunnels
ClickFunnels has a built in analytics tool that gives you detailed and easy to read reports in each funnel.
With that, you get easy access to the data within the funnel to further optimize it. There you can see statistics on sales, conversion rates, A/B test stats, optins, earnings per click, etc.
The best part is that as soon as you publish your funnel inside ClickFunnels you can go to the “Stats” tab and monitor its performance.
Another handy this in ClickFunnels reporting is that, when you are performing A/B tests, you can hover over the 2nd version and see how much likelihood it has to win over the original.
You can also see account wide statistics from the dashboard. There you can see things like recent sales, earnings over time, and total number of subscribers.
Overall, ClickFunnels is providing you with enough reporting depth that you can use it to further improve and optimize your funnels for even higher CTR:s and revenue.
What about SamCart’s reporting?
SamCart offers reporting on all tiers and the data you get should be sufficient for most users. But if you want custom reports and exports you’ll have to upgrade to the ‘Enterprise’ plan.
The standard reporting dashboard will provide you with all the data you need in order to keep track of your sales and conversions.
The reports are sorted by product, date, traffic, etc.
If you have a ‘Enterprise’ plan, you get a more in-depth sales reports and also the option to quickly and easily export the reports as a CSV file.
Here’s what you can see inside a report in SamCart:
- Traffic reports: Here you can analyze where your sales are coming from. You can see the referring URL as well as a UTM table, where you can track any UTM codes you collect on your pages.
- Subscription reports: Here you can get insights into how your subscriptions, payment plans, free trials, & more are performing.
- Charges reports: With the charges report you get a snapshot of all the latest transactions in your Marketplace.
How much reporting do I need?
Well, it depends on what you are comfortable with. Some might not like tons of numbers and advanced statistics, and just want a simple report.
With that in mind, know this…
ClickFunnels has a more detailed, in-depth reporting system compared to SamCart, which has a simpler structure and are generally easier to understand.
And depending on your business experience, you might want a something that’s easier to get a good overview on instead of tons of in-depth data.
If you’re anything like me, and loves a good chunk of data with the morning coffee or are an experienced marketer, the detailed and analytics reports inside ClickFunnels might be a better option.
Affiliate Management
No, I’m not talking about affiliate marketing as the business model, I’m talking about managing your own affiliate program.
Having your own affiliate program can be beneficial for so many reason.
First, you can outsource a lot of the marketing efforts, meaning that you can spend more time developing great products.
And second, if you host a good affiliate program and keep your affiliate happy, it’s a win-win situation, resulting in lots of affiliates wanting to work with you and a boost in sales for you.
Luckily for us both of these platforms has a affiliate management center.
ClickFunnels vs SamCart affiliate centers
ClickFunnels have something called ‘Backpack’. This is a feature within their software for hosting an managing your own affiliate programs.
The downside is that it’s only available in the ‘Platinum’ plan at $297/month
SamCart a similar thing called the ‘Affiliate Center’. And to unlock this feature you need to sign-up to their most expensive plan ‘Scale’, which costs $199/month.
‘Backpack’ is the more advanced one but, what the ‘Affiliate Center’ lacks in features it makes up for in ease of use.
Since the ‘Affiliate Center’ is build in a simpler way, it’s easier for beginners to learn and understand compared to ‘Backpack’.
A cool thing that ClickFunnels utilizes that SamCart doesn’t is sticky cookies. Which can be a nice bargaining chip to have when looking for affiliates.
What do I get?
Here’s some of the things you can see and do inside SamCart’s affiliate manager:
- Enable or disable affiliates for different products
- Total revenue
- Payable commission
- Pending commission
- Leaderboards
- Track commission
- Global earnings per click

As you can see, ClickFunnels affiliate manager have more advanced features compared to SamCart’s, which can give it a steeper learning curve. But it can something well worth learning if you ar planning on hosting your own affiliate program in the future.
Is it worth the extra cost?
Considering the level your business should be at if you want to use affiliates to boost sales, I would justify the extra cost of ClickFunnels ‘Platinum’ at $297/month…
Having a good affiliate management system in place is especially worth it if you are planning on relying on affiliate as a major part of your marketing strategy.
Those extra advanced features that ClickFunnels is providing is going to pay themselves off in the long run.
Education Material
I love learning stuff just as much as the next guy, developing myself into a better businessman. Education is a natural part of trying to learn how to run a business or explore ways to make the once you have more profitable.
So why not have a look and see if either ClickFunnels or SamCart has any education available.
Education within SamCart vs ClickFunnels
SamCart does have some education available on their platform, but it’s limited compared to ClickFunnels.
The first and obvious one is the ‘Weekly Webinars’ which is included in all plans.
The second one is ‘CreatorU’, which you also get access to in all plans, but only for a limited time.
Inside ‘CreatorU’ you can take part of over 17 premium training courses. In there you’ll discover the top marketing and sales strategies used by the top creators online.
And, if you want even more you can try ‘CreatorU Live’, which gives you everything from ‘CreatorU’ plus 1 live call/month with on of the worlds top creators.
The big drawback, once you sign-up and select that you want one of the above, you’ll only have access to it for 2 weeks, after that you need to pay for it.
- CreatorU costs $120 billed yearly
- CreatorU Live costs $365 billed yearly
Then there a few training courses you can take part of inside the Knowledge Base for free.
On the flip side, ClickFunnels has gone all in with the education by adding a complete education center called FunnelFlix.
And I’m just going to quote one of the owners here…
It’s a Netflix-style education center for entrepreneurs
– Russell Brunson
I couldn’t have said it better myself, because it truly is like Netflix, but for entrepreneurs.
The selection of courses within FunnelFlix varies depending on what plan you’ve chosen.

Support
Alright, we are close to the end of this ClickFunnels vs SamCart comparison, but before we wrap this up I think we need to have a look at the support capabilities of these platforms.
Everything can’t be smooth sailing all the time (even though that would be nice), sometimes we hit a obstacle that seems almost impossible to overcome without some expert support.
So let’s have a look at how these platforms to stack up against each other in the support department.
ClickFunnels vs SamCart support system
Both ClickFunnels and SamCart has pretty well developed support systems in place to help you if you find yourself stuck.
And no matter what plan you choose you’ll always have access to expert support in the form of chats, built in helpdesks, YouTube channels, Facebook communities, emails and blogs.
One more exclusive support system ClickFunnels has that SamCart doesn’t is FunnelFlix.
So let’s have a look at how they compare.
Both have chat / email support
ClickFunnels chat is pretty self explanatory, it’s a chat where you get to talk to an expert who will help you resolve your issue.
The biggest drawback here is that you won’t get priority support until you’re on a ‘Platinum’ plan, so the chat can be kind of a slow process on a ‘Standard’ plan.
SamCart on the other hand has email support, which is divided into 3 different tiers based on what level plan you’ve chosen.
If you go with the cheaper ‘Launch’ plan, you’ll only get “standard email support”, which by the looks of it means that it can take a few days to get a reply.
You could step up to the ‘Grow’ plan and get 1-day email support, which would increase the speed of answers substantially.
But, if you are in a hurry and need answers now…or maybe even yesterday, you need to step up to the most expensive plan ‘Scale’. This will give you priority email support.
The helpdesks
SamCart has something called the ‘Knowledge Base‘ which is the place you’ll spend most of the time in search for answers to a problem.
Here you get the detailed guides you need in order to resolve the problem you’re faced with. Everything from ‘Getting Started’ guides if your new on the platform to advanced ‘Reporting and Analytics’. I’d say start here if you are stuck.
The same goes for ClickFunnels and their helpdesk. This is your go-to place when you are stuck or have a question about something.
In there you’ll find a topic for almost any question or problem you can face, and you can often times find a faster way to a solution here then with the chat (unless you’re on a ‘Platinum’ plan with priority chat)
Other ways to get help
SamCart and ClickFunnels both have blogs which are pretty much the same as their YouTube channels, but in text from. So it’s most about preference on how you like to take in information.
Like I mentioned before, ClickFunnels also have its unfair advantage FunnelFlix, which in many cases can help you find solutions to your problems.
SamCart also something called ‘Free Training’ – Which is training on how to build high converting landing pages. The thing is though, you need to put in your name and email address, and we all know how exhausting that can be.
SamCart vs ClickFunnels YouTube channels
ClickFunnels have not one, but two YouTube channels you can use for support.
- The ClickFunnels – Official channel
- And the ClickFunnels – Help Center channel
Both of these can come in handy if you need help and like to consume information in video format. And if you’re really into learning funnels, you can get good explanations on what each do in the “What the Funnel” series on ClickFunnels – Official channel.
SamCart have only one YouTube channel with the simplest of names – SamCart.
This channel is very similar to ClickFunnels channels, but here you’ll find a mix of success stories, tips ‘n trix and actual support/guide videos.
So, If you like getting knowledge through video, both SamCart and ClickFunnels got your back.
Get help on Facebook
If we compare ClickFunnels vs SamCart Facebook communities, we can quickly see that they are pretty similar.
They are both powered by the users of the platforms, meaning that you can join either one and ask questions to actual users of the softwares.
Chances are that the problem you are faced with isn’t the first time its happened and that someone can help you out – all you got to do is ask.
We can also see that ClickFunnels has over 270,000 members vs SamCart with “only” around 36,000.
Does this mean that the support is worse on SamCart…
No, Since it’s powered by real users of the platforms the support will be equally as good. ClickFunnels only has more members because there are more users on the platform.
Final Verdict
I hope this in depth ClickFunnels vs SamCart comparison has made your decision making process a bit shorter.
By now you know that both ClickFunnels and SamCart are two powerful platforms.
SamCart is for those who are in the e-commerce space looking for a reliable checkout and shopping cart management tool. Those who already has a funnel in place and looking to monetize it by accepting orders.
