One of the more important things to us as affiliate is a generous cookie length.

And if you don’t know what a cookies is, here’s a quick explanation.

Cookies are a small text file that stores information in your browser. When a lead clicks on your affiliate link they will be tagged with your cookie.

This way a website can recognize the user by the cookie attached to it.

So when the tagged user comes back and makes a purchase, the affiliate cookie tracks the sale back to you so you get compensation.

This is a very rough explanation of how this system work, but you get the point.

Cookies and their length is important.

The length (lifetime) of a cookie varies depending on what affiliate program you join, some are short, like in days, others have months and even lifetime lengths.

When a cookie expires, you do no longer “own” that potential lead, sure the lead could be on your list but it’s no longer tagged to you.

So if the lead makes a purchase during this untagged time, you won’t get paid, or even worse, your competitor could get paid if they’ve tagged them with their cookie.

To refresh the cookie you need to get the lead to click on your affiliate link again, only then will the timer reset itself and you’ll get paid.

Spencer doesn’t hold back here either, with a cookie length of 365 days, which is pretty generous compared to others.

This means that if you can get someone to click on your affiliate link today, you’d still get paid if the lead buys ‘Affiliate Secrets 3.0’ eight months from today.

The cookie ensures that you get paid, since the purchase happened within the 12 month lifetime.

The assets you get

As an affiliate, it’s much harder to do a good job if the affiliate program doesn’t provide you with some good assets.

It can be things like: marketing ides, keywords, email swipes, images, and more.

You get the point, a few extra good assets can help you bring in more customers, leading to more sales, leading to more commission.

And the more commission you get, the harder you’ll work…at least that’s how I work.

Now you can create a custom affiliate link for the free training hes offering, and still get paid if someone buys the ‘Affiliate Secrets 3.0’ course.

Pretty nifty if you ask me.

But how do you know which pages are eligible for tracking?

Easy…or somewhat easy…

Since this affiliate program is built using FirstPromoter, you need to identify the pages which are tagged with this tag.

But how do you know that, since it’s not written in plain text.
